School Incursions, Teacher PD and more

Engage - Succeed - Extend

Using constructivist pedagogy, our workshops provide:

  • Hands on experience and skills (supported by explicit instruction)

  • Questions which build conceptual learning

  • Tolerance of failure and persistence

  • Wonder, excitement and exploration!

Students are guided through hands-on challenges with robots and electronics – Lego Mindstorms EV3, Edison, paper circuits and Makey-Makey.  Complex concepts are introduced through practical application.  Failure is the key to success.  Highly engaging for both boys and girls!

Teachers get hands-on practical skills in working with specific technologies.  Sample classroom activities are provided and discussed.  Further resources are introduced, along with sample classroom usage.  Discussion on integration with other curriculum and practical tips for getting started.

Your school has equipment, but it is underutilised.  We help you set up the equipment, and give the teachers and students ideas for where to go next.  Ideal for small schools and beginning programs.

Imagine… your school competing in international competition with students designing and building robots to excel at set challenges.  Local winners can go to Sydney and then the USA to compete.  All you need is a good coach…
